Barnes, Kansas
Welcome to
An Unexpected Gem in the middle of everywhere!
Our little town of Barnes is located 11 miles south of highway 36 in Washington County. We are nestled between the towns of Greenleaf  and Waterville along Highway 9, former stop along the "Great White Way."  As of the 2010 Census our population was recorded at 159 residents.  Yes, we are small, but where we lack in population and square miles we make up for in charm.
Here's what is happening in
and around Barnes soon:

The Kansas White Way Can Run
Celebrating 104 Years

Saturday, May 5, 2018
A caravan of antique and collectible cars will be leavings Concordia at 8am and traveling along the White Way (Now Highway 9) towards Frankfort Kansas for a celebration and car show.

Along their route we are lucky that they stop here in Barnes and give us a sort of "pop-up car show"!  Time isn't exact, since it is whenever they happen to drive through town, but 9:30 is usually a good time to come look.
