Travelers on the Central Branch Union Pacific Railroad in Kansas found a landmark stop in Waterville at the track-side Weaver Hotel. For decades, the Weaver was the travel, tourism and social hub of this region and of the Central Branch west of Atchison. Built in 1905, the Weaver Hotel sits directly across the street from the railroad tracks.

Historic Hollenberg
Pony Express Station
A National Historic Landmark.
In 1857 Gerat H. and Sophia Hollenberg established a way station for travelers on the Oregon and California Trails.
Located four miles north of U.S. 36 on -148,
one mile east of Hanover, Kansas.
Visitors Center is open the first
Wednesday in April - last Saturday
in September. 10am-5pm Wed-Sat
