A mother and her four daughters were the "five loaves" and a husband and a son make up the "two fish" of Our Daily Bread Bake Shoppe
and Bistro. They were the original seven that began the business and call themselves this referring to the five loaves and two fish that Jesus used to miraculously feed the crowds of people. The company began as a act of faith. We have given of
what we had and He has
blessed our efforts.
After prayerful consideration with other family members, the path that was followed has led to the Bake Shoppe as it is today. The Bake Shoppe first opened for business in a converted two-car garage on the north end of main street in
Barnes, Kansas. (A small town of abouth 150 people) The "Our Daily Bread" Bake Shoppe celebrated it's grand opening on December 15,2002. By August of 2003 the Bake Shoppe had outgrown the two car garage and and the large historic building on Center Street was purchased and the bake shoppe moved to its present location.
